 Kyra Minturn, who was born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. Her most famous part is as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 and she also won a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her performance as Johnson. The show ended on August 13, 2012, after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her role in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
